How to Add a Group to Your Tapo Devices
Recent updates may have expanded access to feature(s) discussed in this FAQ. Visit your product's support page, select the correct hardware version for your device and check either the Datasheet or the firmware section for the latest improvements added to your product.
Grouping is a feature in which you link a group of devices together to collectively control their on and off functions with the tap of a button. When a group is created it will appear on the home/main screen of the Tapo app and respond like any other device that would be listed there.
Cameras cannot be a part of a group, but plugs, switches, and lighting products can. As an added bonus if you group together a lot of our lighting products a color picker will also appear. This will allow you to set the color of all of the bulbs at once and as the same color. No more guessing or having to use a Voice control to match colors. Especially useful if you are trying to sync the color of all smart bulbs in a single room. *Note: Non-color-changing lighting products will be unaffected by changes made on the color wheel.
How do I create a group?
1. From the Home screen, tap on the “+” icon in the top right corner. Then select "Add Group".
2. Give the new group a name and assign a location for it. Select the smart devices that you want to add to the group and tap SAVE.
