How to Install a Micro SD card for my Tapo camera
Recent updates may have expanded access to feature(s) discussed in this FAQ. Visit your product's support page, select the correct hardware version for your device and check either the Datasheet or the firmware section for the latest improvements added to your product.
Note: When inserting an SD card, make sure the SD card is in the correct orientation. Do NOT insert at an angle or use force. If you are unable to insert the card properly, please check the direction of the card and slot to avoid forcing it in and potentially damaging the card or slot.
Type 1: For Standard Security Cameras
1. Find the SD card slot on the camera’s side panel.
2. Holding the card in the correct orientation, carefully insert the SD card into the slot. Push in the Micro SD card until you hear a clicking sound.
Type 2: For Pan & Tilt Security Cameras
1. Tilt the camera lens up, revealing the Micro SD card slot.
2. Holding the card in the correct orientation, carefully insert the SD card into the slot. Push in the Micro SD card until you hear a clicking sound.
Type 3: For Outdoor Security Cameras
1. Loosen the screws on the back panel and remove the cover to reveal the Micro SD card slot.
2. Holding the card in the correct orientation, carefully insert the SD card into the slot. Push in the Micro SD card until you hear a clicking sound.
Type 4: For battery-powered cameras and doorbells that work with Tapo Hubs
For cameras that connect to a hub, the Micro SD card needs to be installed in the hub.
You can find the Micro SD card slot on the back of the hub. Hold the card in the correct orientation, carefully insert the Micro SD card into the slot, and push it in until you hear a clicking sound.
