A3: There are 2 ways to reboot D235/D225:

1) Go to Tapo App > D235/D225 > Device Settings > Reboot Doorbell.

2) Use a pin to detach the doorbell from the bracket, and press the ON/OFF button on the back for 3 seconds to reboot.

A2: Yes, you can connect more than one chime to the Tapo D235/D225 doorbell. The Tapo app allows you to pair multiple chimes, so you can have notifications in different locations around your home. Just follow the steps in the app to add each chime individually, ensuring they are in pairing mode during the process.

Q3: Can the D235/D225 work with non-TP-Link chime?

A3: Yes, D235/D225 can only work with the traditional chime by installing with hardwire and disabling the Always-on mode, and skipping the install jumper wire steps in the installation steps. It cannot be connected wirelessly to other non-TP-Link chimes.

Q4: How do I get the Hub to ring differently when manually pressing the doorbell and when the doorbell detects motion?

A4: You can achieve it via Automation. For example, you can set “Doorbell is Pressed” as the trigger by create new Automation, and set one ringtone of the Hub. Likewise, you can set another ringtone for detections.

Part 4. Features

Q1. Can the family members I shared doorbell to receive the notification when someone presses the doorbell?

A1: Yes, family members you have shared access to the Tapo D235/D225 doorbell can receive notifications when someone presses the doorbell. To ensure they receive notifications, make sure they have the Tapo app installed and are logged in with the shared account. You can manage notification settings within the app to customize how and when notifications are received.

Q2. If the doorbell shows offline in Tapo app, will the Chime still ring when the doorbell is pressed?

A2: There are numerous reasons why a doorbell may go offline.

If the doorbell is remotely offline but Wi-Fi is still connected, the chime will still ring when the doorbell is pressed. This allows the doorbell to continue functioning even if there is a connectivity issue between the doorbell and the app.

Note that if the doorbell is completely disconnected from Wi-Fi, or if the doorbell is out of battery, or in other offline conditions, the Chime will not ring even if the doorbell is pressed.
